The Camsite Ancoradoiro is built inside the pine forest of our family called "Pinar de los Portals"
At the beginning of 1800, our family, arrived in Galicia from Catalonia bringing with them their expertise in fish salting and built several sardine salting, factories in the area of Muros.
They bought quite a lot of land at the small seaport of Ancoradoiro, where the family established two sardine salting factories in 1836.
The factories ceased production in 1930.
In the 50´s Fernando Etchevers Portals inherited the installations and transform them into tourism.
In 1985 we started to build the campsite in the pine forest, but a forest fire destroyed them.
We wanted a campsite sympathetic to the natural surroundings so we planted a lot of new trees and bushes.
At first becouse of the proximity to the sea, the plants struggled to survive in the prevailing strong winds from the Atlantic, but today the trees are happy and so are we!.
